The Willem Jacob sails regular trips with groups over the Wadden Sea and the IJsselmeer, but it also has a very nice function as a Wadden ferry service. The ship sails routes from Lauwersoog to Amsterdam and back. During this trip the ship calls at every Wadden island and you can step off and on board at any time. On the inside of the ship there is an attractive and light accommodation. The interior was designed by Welmoed Bogers. In the winter of 2010 / 2011 the accommodation has been extended to the fore ship, so that a day stay of 50 square meters has been created. The former cargo hold is entirely available for guests. There are benches along the side, and the rest of the interior can be flexibly arranged for a meeting, lunch or dinner, but also a reception or presentation is possible. An insert wall can be placed halfway through the hold.

There are 2 modern toilets on board, one in the bow and one at the entrance at the back of the day room. No complicated flushing system, but comfort like at home. There is also a fountain here.
 

There are comfortable, ergonomically shaped benches on the starboard and port side. Against this stand the tables. These can be lashed into the sea. Towards the middle shot is the ship's library, with numerous books about shipping and sailing. For the heating a cozy fireplace has been built in, which gives a lot of heat and where you can see the flames. The daylight comes in through large skylights. Forty people can have lunch or dinner at the same time in the day room.

 

The central heating ensures that the ship is nice and warm. After sailing we can light the fireplace.

 

There is a spacious galley on the port side. Here is an 6-burner boretti gas stove, equipped with an electric oven. The dishes, cups and bowls are placed in the communal cupboard. Furthermore there are enough pots and pans on board to make a nice meal. Two refrigerators, a double sink and a generous worktop complement the whole.

 

In the front part of the hold we can place 22 bunk beds by means of an ingenious system. There will also be a partition between the day room and the sleeping area. If you do not use catering, the 2 person cabin is also available. This brings the total to 24 beds available. There is a shower in the bow for the guests staying on board.
