Sudermar
Sailing with tough Frisian tjalk
The Sudermar is a tough tjalk, built in 1904. The ship sailed for a long time both in the Netherlands and abroad. Nowadays she sails with guests who want to enjoy being together on a ship and want to experience the sailing of yore. The Sudermar is more than suitable for this. The upper deck is kept as much as possible in its original state, swords and sails are operated with traditional winches.
The ship is tastefully decorated inside with lots of space and comfort for the guests. The construction of this typical Frisian flat bottom makes it very suitable for navigating waters of different depths. Sparkling through the waves of the IJsselmeer, exploring the Frisian lakes or through the mud flats and the shallows of the Wad. The crew of the Sudermar exploits the qualities of this ship in all weather conditions, so that the guests experience a trip with the Sudermar as an unforgettable adventure.
Interior
Below deck there is headroom everywhere, both in the saloon and in the sleeping quarters. The salon has comfortable sofas where you can stay and relax.
The ship has 5x 2-person cabins and 2x 4-person cabins. The bedrooms are equipped with sinks with hot and cold running water and central heating. Each cabin has a 230 volt socket. There are two communal toilets and two communal showers.
For midweeks and week trips, an advance stay can be booked.
