Oban

Sailing with the Oban

This schooner was built in 1903 in Emden, East Frisian, for herring fishing in the Netherlands. Since 1985 the ship sails with guests in the North Sea (from the English south coast, the Channel Islands to the Netherlands and the German Bight) and in the Baltic Sea. The current owners, Jolan Kanters and Olaf Broekstra, bought the Oban in the year 1999.

Interior

On deck you will find the atmospheric ship's saloon with the fully equipped galley and a toilet. Below deck is the spacious second salon and ten cabins with washbasins and the showers and toilets. There is also ample seating with tables on deck and an outdoor shower. As a result, this ship offers just that little bit extra.

On the aft deck, the 'Philosopher's deck', there is also seating for 20 people, while on the front deck the table is usually set for a barbecue evening or breakfast.
