Artemis

Welcome to the Artemis

The Artemis - named after the goddess of the hunt - was built in Norway in 1926 for whaling and operated in that capacity mainly in the Northern and Southern Arctic Seas until the late XNUMXs.
In the XNUMXs she was converted into a freighter and sailed between Asia and South America until she was no longer competitive and was withdrawn from service.
In 2001 the Artemis got new owners, who rebuilt her thoroughly and turned them back into an elegant sailing ship with a lot of love for details.

The three-masted barque Artemis is a beautiful example of maritime tradition. The ship was built in Norway in 1926 for whaling and later used as a cargo ship between Asia and South America. Since 2001, the Artemis has sailed European waters again to the greater honor and glory of the Dutch sailing fleet!

Frisian owners bought Artemis at the end of the last century and built it back with great love and a sense of detail to a stunningly beautiful sailing ship. The masts are square, characteristic of a bark. The sight of the three-master on the high seas is unsurpassed. On the way to historic port cities or to one of the many nautical events.

Beloved journeys on the Baltic Sea

Robust and original, that is the appearance of the Artemis. At the same time, the ship has high comfort and luxury on board. It is precisely this combination that makes the ship unique and sought after at international events and sea voyages. The bark has an attractive maritime salon with bar and a hotel kitchen, which leaves nothing to be desired. The trips of the Artemis on the Scottish waters, the Baltic Sea and around the South Danish island archipelago are popular.

Great nautical experience

The Artemis offers space for 120 people for day trips and for 32 people cabin accommodation. Guests can look forward to experienced and enthusiastic service staff and excellent catering. And of course on a great nautical experience on an authentic three-master. With a driven sailing crew, the most modern navigation equipment and fully prescribed safety equipment for worldwide shipping.
