Weekend sailing Friesland

Pentecost sailing cruise

A wonderful and long weekend sailing across the Wadden Sea with a visit to Terschelling and Vlieland. The Wadden Sea has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List for 11 for years, a more than justified recognition for this beautiful area.

Travel schedule

You embark on Friday evening in the beautiful harbor city of Harlingen. You will be assigned your cabin, the bed is made and a towel package is ready for you. While enjoying a welcome drink you get to know the other guests and the crew. The skipper explains the ship and the journey for the next few days. In the evening you can take a look at the atmospheric Harlingen and settle down on a terrace by the sea.
The next morning, after a hearty breakfast, the ship leaves the port of Harlingen. The sailor is happy to explain sailing. The trip goes through channels, along sandbanks with resting seals to the beautiful island of Vlieland. An extensive lunch is provided on deck along the way. In the course of the afternoon the ship will moor in the marina of Vlieland and you can visit the island with its beautiful dune landscapes, beaches and the idyllic village of Oost-Vlieland.

On Sunday, the Actief departs for West-Terschelling. The tour goes through the inlet between Vlieland and Terschelling, the Vliestroom, along the Richel and the grounds of Stortemelk. There is a good chance that we will see seals on the banks along the way. In the afternoon the ship moors in the port of West-Terschelling. You can walk straight from the ship into this cozy village.
On Monday the ship will leave for the mainland again; a wonderful sailing trip ahead. When the skyline of Harlingen comes into view you have the feeling that you have had a long, relaxing holiday. A special journey, to the rhythm of the tide, driven by the wind and in the most beautiful nature reserve in Northern Europe, the Wadden Sea.

Note: The final cruise route will be determined upon embarkation on Friday evening. The wind direction and strength determine the final route.
