sailing holiday scotland tour

Wonderful ramble through the Scottish Hebrides

A sailing holiday from Wick to Oban, via the Orkneys, is an adventure you will never forget. This journey takes you through some of Scotland's most beautiful and unspoilt landscapes and offers you the opportunity to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the sea. This trip is characterized by a lot of sailing because quite a few miles have to be covered.

Travel information

You will begin your adventure in Wick, a picturesque coastal town in the north of Scotland. Here you will meet the crew and your fellow passengers and the route for the next few days will be discussed. After embarking you will sail along the coast passing the impressive cliffs of Dunnet Head and Duncansby Head. The landscape becomes wilder and more dramatic as you approach the Orkneys.
Once you arrive on the Orkneys, you imagine yourself in another world. These islands are known for their beautiful beaches, rugged hills and rich history. You can visit the prehistoric sites of Skara Brae and Maes Howe, or sample the local cuisine in one of the many charming villages on the islands.
After exploring the Orkneys, the skipper sets sail for Oban. This idyllic harbor town on the west coast of Scotland is the perfect place to relax and unwind after an adventurous journey at sea. Oban is known for its excellent seafood, breathtaking views and friendly atmosphere.

The above itinerary gives an impression of the route that will be sailed. The exact mooring places and ports that are visited depend on the weather conditions.

Whether you are an experienced sailor or simply looking for a unique way to explore the Scottish coast, a sailing holiday on the Flying Dutchmans is an unforgettable experience. It is the perfect way to enjoy the beauty of nature, discover the local culture and enjoy a well-deserved holiday at sea.
