Step on board and be surprised during this corona-proof wanderings Om de Noord.
When boarding, the passengers ensure that everyone is healthy. There is everything on board to avoid having to enter a port for a month if necessary if corona makes it unsafe. The sails are then hoisted to discover the northern North Sea from the corona-free bubble.
Scotland, Norway, Orkney, Shetland and maybe even the Far Oer are on the wish list.
The route depends on the weather. Nothing is certain, except that everyone, normally, will arrive in Bremerhaven safe and sound a month later.
This sailing trip is suitable for anyone who has mobility problems and is sufficiently fit and healthy. There may be some wind or sea conditions to be expected on certain routes, but in severe weather or if necessary, the ship can be in port within 24 hours.
Once at sea, the Oosterschelde sometimes sails for several days and nights in a row. The crew members alternate in a fixed rhythm. Before departure you will receive an extensive safety instruction and ask the captain to participate in the watch system. This means that for a period of 4 hours you will help with the sailing of the ship together with the permanent crew, after which you can spend another 8 hours at your own discretion. The activities during the watch let the captain depend on everyone's personal interest and condition.
Food allergies and dietary requirements
If you have dietary requirements or allergies, it is best to discuss this before booking. Often it is not a problem, but sometimes some cooperation is expected from the guests if special products have to be purchased, which will then have to be taken by the guests themselves, for example.
