Welcome to this imposing ship
The Oosterschelde is the last representative of a large fleet of three-masted schooners that sailed under the Dutch flag at the beginning of the 20th century. This largest restored sailing ship in the Netherlands is a monument to Dutch shipbuilding and sailing cargo shipping at sea.
With a mast height of 36 meters and a length of 50 meters, the Oosterschelde is an impressive sight. The Oosterschelde is recognized as a monument of great cultural and historical value. The ship provides for its own maintenance and is used all over the world for presentation and promotion activities. Up to 120 guests can sign up for a day trip or reception.
History
After the restoration, the Oosterschelde made two trips around the world and visited more than 50 countries on 5 continents. The ship sailed in tropical regions, but also several polar expeditions were made to Spitsbergen, Antarctica and South Georgia. Until today, the Oosterschelde makes adventurous sailing trips all over the world on which anyone who wants to can book individually.
Interior
The ship has a very attractive interior. In the spacious salon with lacquered wood, shiny copper, a piano, a bar and even a wood stove, you can taste the atmosphere of the past.
