The island of Corsica is ideally suited to discover by ship. This Corsica journey with barquentine Atlantis starts in Olbia, on the northeastern coast of Sardinia.
From this beautiful city starts this wonderful sailing trip and you can admire the landscapes, history and culture of this beautiful island from the warm Mediterranean Sea.
The Atlantis will sail a northerly course along the famous coastline 'Costa Smeralda'. This coastline owes its name to the emerald green sea water. In the 'Street of Boniface' lies the Magdalena Archipelago. This archipelago consists of 62 (mountain) islands, of which 7 are larger islands. At this point during the trip, the captain will decide which route is the most favorable in terms of wind to experience the best sailing days
In the south of Corsica, Bonifacio is located on heavily eroded cliffs in a bay. Entering this fjord-like inlet between high chalk cliffs is truly breathtaking. Bonifacio is one of the most spectacular places on the island of Corsica. The upper town is located on a 70m high plateau and is a true maze with narrow streets and picturesque alleys.
The Corsican west coast has one of the most varied and spectacular coastlines in the entire Mediterranean. Towering rock formations alternate with lovely bays, friendly fishing villages and challenging mountain villages. And of course the white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. You can enjoy this while the ship is anchored in a beautiful anchorage, for example around Calvi, Ajaccio and Propriana. Or in the harbor of a picturesque town.
With 2900 hours of sunshine per year, Ajaccio in Corsica is the French record holder for sunny weather and the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte. The city is nestled between mountains and a lake in the island's largest bay. Perhaps the Atlantis will also set sail for Iles Lavezzi, where the water is the color of a Lagoon and is a paradise for swimming!
Note: Wind and weather can greatly affect the trip. If necessary due to unforeseen circumstances, changes to the itinerary can be made.
Food allergies and dietary requirements
If you have dietary requirements or allergies, it is best to discuss this before booking. Often it is not a problem, but sometimes some cooperation is expected from the guests if special products have to be purchased, which will then have to be taken by the guests themselves, for example.
