Classic two-masted clipper Sûdwester
The Sudwester is a classic two-masted clipper on which you can enjoy an old-fashioned sailing trip. The ship is of course equipped with all modern conveniences. For whatever occasion you come on board, you will always make a nice trip on this clipper.
On deck
You can enjoy your sailing trip on deck of the Sudwester. In the spacious cockpit, but also in other places on deck of this clipper, you will certainly find a nice place to enjoy the trip. Are you not very good at sitting still? You are most welcome to help with, for example, hoisting the sails and tacking. After a wonderful day of fresh air, you can enjoy snacks, drinks or perhaps a barbecue on deck when the weather is nice.
Interior
When you look for a quiet spot in the day room of the clipper Sudwester after a day of sailing, you will certainly feel at home. A cozy day room with comfortable sofas to relax for a while. There is enough space at the nice and spacious tables to enjoy a nice meal or a good conversation.
After an active day on the water you can find a comfortable bed in one of the many cabins. The cabins are all equipped with heating and running water.
History
After the Sudwester was launched in 1912, she transported her cargo over the Western European inland waterways. In the spring of 1997, the clipper Sûdwester was rediscovered and hard work has been done to provide the ship with her original rigging again. Since then, this clipper has sailed with guests on the Dutch inland waterways.
