The Trust was launched in 1904 at the yard of JJ Bos in Echtenerbrug. This yard was known for its beautifully built and fast ships. For years skipper Bos transported cargo throughout the country with this special Frisian tjalk, which was known for its fast trips and good sailing characteristics. In 1990 the ship was restored and made suitable for sailing holidays without sacrificing her original appearance and retaining her great sailing capacities. Irma & Lex have been the proud owners of the Vertrouwen since 2012 and they have modernized the ship both inside and out in recent years.

 

The Vertrouwen has sailed with 18 passengers in recent years and now sails with a maximum of 12 passengers. This means that the ship is spacious and has comfortable sleeping places with sufficient storage space. The ship has ample headroom of 2.00 - 2.40 meters. The salon is nicely decorated and offers plenty of comfortable seating.

You will soon feel at home! There is an open kitchen with 8 burners, an oven and two fridges, where it is pleasant to work and you can chat with the rest of the group in the meantime. At the spacious tables you can sit and chat with each other and enjoy a nice home-made meal or a long pleasant evening.

 

On deck of the Trust you can fully enjoy your sailing trip. You can help with hoisting and setting the sails, steering and determining the route. Or do you prefer to be carried away while you relax and enjoy being together, the wind, sun, views and, in the worst case, a shower. Choose a nice spot on deck with a lounge cushion or in the tub of this beautiful tjalk. Everything is fine, as long as you enjoy! The owners are fanatic sailors and are happy to teach you the tricks of the trade.
 

All cabins have comfortable sleeping places. There are 12 beds, so there is plenty of room for everyone. There are 4 two person cabins, 1 four person cabin and 1 one person cabin. The cabins have running water, central heating and enough storage space for bags and (rain) clothing. The ship has a spacious shower and 2 spacious modern toilets.
