Welcome to the Suydersee
A day sailing on the IJsselmeer or on the Wad with the sailing ship Suydersee is an experience for everyone. Get some fresh air with your friends, family or colleagues. A special sporting experience for everyone who wants to experience a unique tour.
The ship
The Suydersee, is a beautiful clipper with two masts suitable for 34 people. It was built in 1906 to transport goods. In 2000 she was completely converted into a luxury charter ship for transporting passengers on the Waddenzee and the IJsselmeer.
The Suydersee offers luxurious accommodation. The ship has a cozy bar and a closed galley. There are 34 sleeping places on board and on day trips there is room for 60 people.
Interior
From the deck you walk down the stairs to the spacious and attractive seating area of the ship. There are sturdy tables surrounded by softly upholstered sofas and chairs. In this cozy area there is room for 34 people at the table. There is a fully equipped galley (kitchen) with even a beer tap.
From the day room a corridor leads to the sleeping quarters. In the corridor are only three toilets and showers, then are 10 cabins in the hallway. The 9 4 double and quadruple cabins are spacious. The other three cabins are located in the nave, next to the kitchen.
All cabins have hot and cold running water. There is enough space to place the luggage under the bed. Each cabin has a porthole that, if desired, can be opened.
Rain or shine? The whole ship is equipped with central heating, including all cabins.
Special occasions
The Suydersee offers trips to Terschelling and Vlieland, with drying out as an attractive option. The Suydersee is also the right place for company outings, family days, bachelor parties, school trips, single travel, active sailing, various packages and last-minute offers. By replacing the tables in the day room with standing tables, you can receive up to 50 guests in this room.
