In service for over a hundred years

Zeiltjalk de Stânfries was built in 1902. Originally the ship transported coal, peat and grain. In the 70s the ship was converted for charter sailing. The ship is designed in such a way that it still retains its atmospheric and nostalgic atmosphere, both below and above deck. A wood-burning stove, the mahogany paneling and the many portholes give the whole a warm and real ship's character.

Sailing on the Stânfries

Skipper Sjoerd has been sailing since 1985 and he became owner of this tjalk in 1993. He knows the intricacies of sailing. This classic tjalk is particularly suitable for going on an adventure with families, clubs, school or groups of friends. The Stânfries sailing vessel is robust, handy and safe and will discover the most beautiful spots on and along the water with you. Skipper and apprentice skipper are always willing to share their knowledge and experience.
