Nirwana
Sporty sailing with the Nirwana
The 'Nirwana' was built in 1910 as a single-masted clipper 'Neeltje'. She sailed with cargo until about 1940. Then the clipper was motorized. In 1990 Jelte and Annelies Toxopeus fell in love with the beautiful hull and in 1991 rebuilt the ship into a comfortable two-masted clipper. The former cargo hold has been transformed into an attractive and spacious accommodation for 26 people.
Thanks to its dimensions, it has a lot of living space, both above and below deck. All sails are hoisted by hand, which means working together! After hoisting the sails you can enjoy the sun on the deck or in the cockpit. Once on the spacious water you will experience how powerful and free sailing feels on board this sporty clipper. The Nirwana puts safety first and is very child friendly. Ideal for family or family trips, school trips, company outings and sailing holidays
Interior
In the hold there is an attractive living space with shiny mahogany, authentic large portholes and a surprising amount of light. There are four large tables to enjoy a nice meal and a drink in the evening. There is plenty of space to read, talk or play games. Next to the stairs is a cloakroom for the coats. The kitchen and lounge are separated by a height difference and a bar top. The Nirwana has 26 beds in 11 cabins.
There are 9 double cabins and 2 quadruple cabins. The beds have a minimum length of 2 meters and there are two beds of 2.20 meters. Each bed is equipped with a reading light. In each cabin is a sink with hot and cold running water and a porthole can be opened for fresh air.
For the colder months of the year, there is a heater in each cabin. There is a cupboard under the sink, the other luggage you can slide under the bed.
