Step aboard for a wonderful sailing adventure through the Netherlands. The crew of the Medusa is happy to take you on a tour of the IJsselmeer, the Wadden Sea and the Dutch inland waterways. Participate actively, take the helm yourself and feel the wind in your hair. Leave the mainland for what it is.

 

Downstairs in the ship is the cozy day room that is characterized by a lot of daylight and authentic ship design. There is enough seating for twenty people. Here you can chat about the experiences of the day while enjoying a snack and drink. The open kitchen is equipped with a six-burner catering stove with oven. Everything is there for preparing a multi-course menu or just a good plate of stew. 

The Medusa has twenty berths, which are divided over six cabins. These are four cabins for four people and two cabins for two people. The length of the beds is two meters, and the width varies from seventy to one hundred and forty centimeters. Bedding is provided, including duvet and pillow. The cabins are equipped with a sink with hot and cold water. When the nights are cool in the spring or autumn, the ship can be brought to a pleasant temperature with central heating.

There are two toilets and two showers. The showers are spacious and equipped with (child-friendly) thermostatic taps.

 

The Medusa is a ship with a historic appearance. The wooden hoods are covered with non-slip cloth and complete the traditional appearance. The sails are operated by hand or with the help of muscle-powered auxiliary winches. The standard rigging consists of three sails with a total surface area of ​​approximately 260 m2. In addition, there are a few 'play' sails for little wind, such as a 100m2 semi-winder.

The departure port of the Medusa depends on the season. In the spring and late autumn they sail from Kampen, in the summer months from Stavoren and Harlingen. The sailing schedule for 2023 is as follows:

• March 1 - June 11 Kampen
• June 12 - July 14 Stavoren
• July 15 - August 1 Harlingen
• August 2 - September 22 Stavoren
• September 23 October 31 Camps
