Lotus

Welcome to this beautiful tjalk

This tough tjalk is built in 1889. After a major renovation, the Lotus has been in use since 1992 as a sailing passenger ship on the Wadden Sea and the IJsselmeer. Enjoy the beautiful Dutch landscape from the rippling water, and experience an unforgettable journey with this stately tjalk.

The ship

The high railing and wide gangways make it a safe ship and is ideal for small children. On the deck there is a comfortable cockpit and plenty of deck space to stretch your legs. The spacious day room has a radio, a CD player, an extensive on-board library and games. On colder and chilly days the central heating can be switched on for a pleasant temperature below deck.

In the ship's kitchen you can prepare your own meals on a generous 6-burner gas stove. You can use a large refrigerator (approx. 300 litres), a freezer, 2 sinks, all necessary kitchen utensils, glassware, cutlery, and of course a cozy bar with beer tap.
The spacious cabins are equipped with a sink with hot and cold running water, central heating, a reading light and sufficient storage space.
