Sail on this individual sailing trip on Tall Ship Thalassa across the beautiful Scottish waters to the most famous Single Malt distilleries and experience the Islay Whiskey Festival. Discover the ancient harbors, the inhospitable islands and the beautiful nature of this beautiful country.
Experience Scotland and its islands from the water and have the whiskey journey of a lifetime. Visit the world famous annual Islay Festival of Music and Malt and join the whiskey experts on an excursion to distilleries. You can also go out on your own, by bike or on foot. Traveling by ship gives you a different view of Scotland and introduces you in a unique way to the country, the ports and the famous whiskeys.
Especially for this whiskey sailing trip there will be a well-stocked whiskey bar on board. There is a whiskey expert on board who can provide everyone with the necessary explanation and expertise both on board and during the trips to whiskey distilleries.
On Saturday everyone can board Thalassa from 14.00 p.m. in the port of Troon. After you have become acquainted with the ship, the crew and the other guests, the ship departs for Islay around 15.00:XNUMX PM. At night the ship arrives at the pier of Bruichladdich.
The second day is the Bruichladdich festival and the crossing to Jura
On Monday there is a visit to the Jura distillery and then you can go to Port Askaig where the whiskey festival takes place at that time. In the afternoon Thalassa sails to Port Ellen. Guests can choose to join a boat or travel by land (bus or car).
On Tuesday the ship will be in Port Ellen in front of the fesitval at Laphroaigh. Other distilleries can also be visited such as Ardbeg and Lagavulin.
The Thalassa will remain in Port Ellen. Here the festival takes place at Bowmore and Ardnahoe, which can be reached by public transport or by the ship's rental car.
The sails will be raised again on Thursday for the crossing to Campbeltown. Here's an afternoon tour at Springbank or Glen Scotia
On Friday the ship will sail to Arran and then to the home port of Troon.
Saturday is already the last day. Between 08.00:10.00 and XNUMX:XNUMX you say goodbye, everyone disembarks in Troon.
The aim is to sail according to the program as much as possible, but the route is highly dependent on wind and weather.
