Scotland sailing trip

Whiskey trip with the Atlantis

With this fully arranged package you will make a wonderful sailing trip along the rugged west coast of Scotland. On some days you visit a whiskey distillery and taste the locally fired specialty. You can also let these excursions pass you by and enjoy everything else that Scotland has to offer. There is plenty of time to explore the area on foot. The travel schedule below is partly dependent on weather, wind and tides.

Possible itinerary:

Sunday May 17 Embarkation
On the day of arrival you will board the Atlantis from 17:00 PM in Ullapool. After arrival on board and the crew's welcome chat, the first evening offers the opportunity to get to know fellow travelers and crew. The ship's bar invites passengers to a first whiskey treat.

Monday 18 May Talisker / Muir or Ord
After a hearty breakfast, a bus is waiting to take the passengers to Muir or Ord, where you will visit the Glen Ord distillery and also the castle of the Mackenzie family. Leod Castle is certainly worth a visit and will take you far back in Scottish history. At 16: 00 hour you board the Atlantis again and the sailing trip by sea towards Talisker begins.

Tuesday 19 May Talisker
The quiet town of Talisker is located on the Scottish island of Skye. The impressive coastal formation makes the run-up to Talisker a special experience. In Talisker the distillery of the same name is visited, which maintains the longest tradition on the island. In 1830, the Macaskills marked the start of one of the most successful distilleries.

Wednesday 20 May Rum
On this day the Scottish coast with its beautiful islands and beautiful colors is viewed from the Atlantis. A stop on the island of Rum offers the opportunity to stretch your legs. With a population of about 30 people, the island is still quiet. Rum is an island full of history and well worth seeing. Afterwards the journey continues towards Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. In the evening you arrive in Tobermory.

Thursday 21 May Tobermory
After breakfast, an excursion to the local distillery is on the program. A tour of the distillery and a whiskey tasting await you. The afternoon offers the opportunity to explore the capital of the island of Mull. The color of the houses on the Tobermory harbor reflect the spirit of the residents.

Friday 22 May Oban
In the morning the Atlantis leaves for Oban. Once there, a visit to the local distillery is on the program. A tour and whiskey tasting gives you an insight into the workings of the Oban distillery. During the rest of the day, you can explore the town of Oban and visit the local attractions. In the evening we end the trip in a festive manner with a Captains Dinner and we can exchange experiences at the table.

Saturday 23 May Departure
After breakfast on board the passengers leave at 09: 00 hour. They can look back on a wonderful journey through Scotland and beautiful memories were collected.
