Unfortunately, the Lighthouse Run will be canceled in 2021 due to Corona. Those who have booked will be notified. Perhaps the weekend will continue as a normal sailing weekend.
For lovers of evening walks or running competitions in the beautiful nature of Vlieland, this is a great arrangement. The Vuurtorenloop takes place on Saturday evening. A surprising evening walk along beacons of fire and light, made by artists. Along the way you can experience, see and taste everything. You can walk 9 or 14 kilometers.
The running race on Sunday afternoon also has two distances: 5 nautical miles (9,5 km) and 10 nautical miles (18,5 km). The route consists of an inspiring, varied but above all challenging trail: through forest and village, over dunes and beaches. Part is the ascent of the Vuurtorenduin.
The Vuurtorenloop is a walk of 9 or 14 kilometers, where you will be guided over the lighthouse dune, forests and the beach. Along the way you come across all sorts of surprising elements. The nice thing about this walk is the relaxing atmosphere and that you have the time to view all objects in peace. That way you can fully enjoy nature. Did you know that Vlieland is one of the darkest places in the Netherlands? So that gives a wonderful effect with all those beacons of light.
Turn the Vuurtorenloop into a weekend away and get on Friday 16 April at 21: 00 hour aboard the sailing ship Passaat in Harlingen. On Friday evening you will spend the night aboard the ship in the Willemshaven. On Saturday morning you will leave for Vlieland after breakfast, where the ship will moor in the afternoon. On board you can still enjoy dinner and the walk starts at 20.30 hour (14 km) and at 21.30 hour (9 km) in the village. You also finish in the village. The return journey is on Sunday and at the end of the afternoon the ship will moor in Harlingen.
You spend the night in a comfortable 2- or 4-person cabin.
Bed linen and towel set are included.
The catering is fully provided with the Lighthouse package. On Friday evening there is coffee and cake and a drink waiting for you. Saturday morning there is a hearty breakfast before departure. Along the way, the cook will prepare lunch on board the ship and dinner in the evening. On Sundays you will be provided with a delicious breakfast, lunch and coffee and tea.

If you or your fellow traveler does not want to walk the Vuurtorenloop, but would still like to book the sailing trip, you can. There are enough beds on board.
The organization of the Vuurtorenloop decides at the beginning of January that the event will take place.

Food allergies and dietary requirements
If you have dietary requirements or allergies, it is best to discuss this before booking. Often it is not a problem, but sometimes some cooperation is expected from the guests if special products have to be purchased, which will then have to be taken by the guests themselves, for example.
