Round N-Holland with tulips and Texel

Sunday 01 May 2022 21: 00 t / m Friday 06 May 2022 15: 00

A tour of North Holland with tulips and Texel

In 6 days a 'Tour of Noord-Holland' on sailing ship Bontekoe, including the Zaanse Schans, Alkmaar and Texel. In the middle of the tulip season! The 6 days on board the Bontekoe runs from Sunday evening to Friday afternoon.

Travel information

On Sunday from 21 pm you can board and you will be welcomed by the crew, you will meet the other sailors and you will be shown around the ship.
On Monday you will enjoy breakfast first in the morning. The trusses are released around 10 a.m. After an explanation about sailing you can actively help during the trip or enjoy the view and the wind in your hair.
De Bontekoe chooses a beautiful route, she sails through the North Holland Canal, and visits the most beautiful places and towns it encounters along the way. As a bonus, it also sails between the tulip fields.

Route

The sailing trip can go to Amsterdam and the IJ, the Zaanse Schans, Alkmaar and even Texel. The ship departs from Enkhuizen in the direction of Amsterdam, where it will look for the entrance to the North Holland Canal on the IJ near Amsterdam. The ship slowly creeps northwards via the Zaan, past the Zaanse Schans. Then it arrives in Alkmaar. After Alkmaar the canal leads you to Den Helder. When you arrive at the Wadden Sea, you can already see Texel. Via the lock at Den Oever you come back to the IJsselmeer and you can pick up the waterway to Enkhuizen again.
On the last day, the Bontekoe will sail back to the port of departure and you will leave the ship around 15:00 PM, but with a very different feeling than you went on board at the beginning of the week, with new memories and maybe even new friends. You are probably already looking forward to the next time you come sailing.

In the event of a persistent northerly wind, the skipper can choose to reverse the sailing direction. There are, of course, also many other circumstances that dictate the final route and mooring places, so they are not fixed.
In short: A very varied trip with a lot of action, on the open water, but also with a quiet simmer through narrow waters where there is a lot to see!

On land

While you help the skipper moor, the ship's cook is already preparing dinner. The sailors eat together on board, but afterwards there is of course still time to explore the area. You can go into town, explore the area, go for a walk or rent a bicycle. Or you can stay on board to play a game with the other sailors, find a quiet corner or just have a nice chat.

Food allergies and dietary requirements
If you have dietary requirements or allergies, it is best to discuss this before booking. Often it is not a problem, but sometimes some cooperation is expected from the guests if special products have to be purchased, which will then have to be taken by the guests themselves, for example.
