Clipper race a/b by Rode Swan

Friday 13 October 2023 20: 00 t / m Sunday 15 October 2023 17: 00

Hard sailing during Klipperrace in Enkhuizen

Sail with the Red Swan during the clipper race on the IJsselmeer and experience a real sailing race together with the experienced crew. Boarding a clipper during this sailing competition is an ideal way to sail a competition on a real traditional sailing ship.

The match

The Klipperrace has been around since 1975 and consists of two parts, the Three Cities Race and the Olympic track. The Three Cities Race is sailed on Saturday. This race starts with the spectacular anchor start in the Krabbersgat near Enkhuizen, unless the wind blows from the northeast. Two of the three designated buoys must then be rounded. These buoys are located at Medemblik, Stavoren and Urk. The finish is in the Krabbersgat. The Olympic track is sailed on Sunday. The two classes start one after the other and the courses partially overlap, so that the field stays together for the entire race.

You don't have to be an experienced sailor to race, but basic knowledge of sailing is helpful. Before sailing, everyone receives sailing instructions, so that you and the professional crew can help as much as possible when sailing with the Red Swan.
