Photography workshop on the Wadden

Walk on the sea floor at low tide and photograph beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
In these photography weekends you can take your photography to a higher level because Ron Zervaas gives presentations and workshops on board on various subjects.

Travel information

You embark on Friday evening, aboard one of the ships, in the beautiful harbor of Harlingen. After the meeting with the crew and the rest of the travelers, the skipper explains the route for the weekend and the photographer starts with his program and explains the plans for the weekend.
Saturday morning, following a sailing instruction from the sailor, the ship leaves the port of Harlingen. You go on the Wad, looking for photogenic channels, sandbanks, seals, birds, buoys and views.
The ship will be moored on one of the Wadden Islands on Saturday evening. The result of the photos of this day is viewed together. Of course there is also plenty to see and record on the island.
On Sunday the ship departs again towards Harlingen with another beautiful trip full of unique photographic moments ahead.
The ship will moor in Harlingen harbor during the course of Sunday.

Who is the weekend for?

You are a beginning or advanced photographer and interested in landscape photography. You want to take your skills in that area to the next level.
The level of experience of the participants will not be the same for everyone. Because the workshops require knowledge and use of the M-stand on your camera, Ron Zervaas will post instructional videos on his YouTube channel from December 2019 that will make the tools and knowledge required for the workshops on board available. So during the winter you can prepare yourself at home and in your own time.

Even after the trip, he will pay ample attention to the photographic results of the students through his YouTube channel and answer any questions that have arisen. So see this beautiful photography trip as an educational mini vacation. In addition to all the above, extra photography tricks and tips will undoubtedly come your way during the weekend.

Topics that are covered

  • Photographing in the RAW file format (presentation)
  • Light and illuminate; 'types' of light and their influence on your photos (presentation)
  • Lighting triangle; shutter speed, aperture, ISO and the M-position of your camera. It's easier than you think (workshop)
  • Composition; from classical composition theory to color composition and arrangement of landscape elements (workshop)

Additional information

  • The weekend is full board, only the soft and alcoholic drinks must be paid separately.
  • The weekend will only take place with sufficient participation (minimum 10 people) and if there are too few registrations, the weekend can be moved to one of the other 9 dates. Maximum number of participants is 15.

Food allergies and dietary requirements
If you have dietary requirements or allergies, it is best to discuss this before booking. Often it is not a problem, but sometimes some cooperation is expected from the guests if special products have to be purchased, which will then have to be taken by the guests themselves, for example.
