Island hopping on the Wadden Sea

Do you want to discover many islands during your holiday? Then the island hop tour is the perfect sailing trip for you! You sail on a historic sailing ship together with other sailors, along the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Wadden Sea. Hopping from island to island, you can enjoy the beautiful nature, dunes and beaches. Each island has its own unique landscapes and attractions.
The sailing trips are planned on different ships. The ships are comfortable and cozy and ideal for several people together. While sailing you can help with sailing (please), but nothing is required. Sailing experience is not necessary; the sailor and skipper are happy to help you with the activities on deck.

Travel Route

On the Wad you live to the rhythm of the tide and the weather. That is why the island hopping route is discussed day by day. The skipper explains the options for the next island based on the weather conditions, tide and wind direction. The program may look like this:

Day 1: From Harlingen to Texel
Texel is the westernmost and largest island and you can experience the liveliness in the villages here, there is plenty to do. In addition to the extensive beaches and varied natural landscapes, you can undertake a wide range of activities here. A visit to the seal sanctuary Ecomare is highly recommended.
Day 2: From Texel to Vlieland
Vlieland is a beautiful idyllic, compact island. On Vlieland you really feel that you are in the middle of nature. A tip: take a ride with the Vliehors express. You drive with a horse and carriage on the beach to the very tip of Vlieland. There is an abandoned rescue house with relics that were once buried. Enjoy the vastness and beautiful views of the island here.
Day 3: From Vlieland to Terschelling
Terschelling is probably the most popular island among holidaymakers. There is so much you can do here that you will not be bored. You will therefore also stay on this island for two days. This way you have enough time to discover the island. Take a nice bike ride from West-Terschelling to the very tip in Oosterend and continue walking through the Boschplaat nature reserve (closed during breeding season). Or stroll at your leisure through the bustling village streets of the villages of West, Midsland or Formerum.
Day 4: Terschelling
This day you can continue to discover all the natural beauty of Terschelling and its lively character.
Day 5: Sailing back to Harlingen
In the morning you can take a nice walk on the island. Then the ship sails back to Harlingen. Here you set foot on the mainland again in the afternoon after a wonderful midweek full of memories.

Food and drink

The food is on a full board basis. A cook will accompany you on this journey, who will provide guests with breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and appetizers throughout the day. The cook prepares everything, but the cook certainly likes a little help with cutting or washing the dishes!
