For many runners, the Berenloop on the Wadden Island of Terschelling has been a permanent part of the calendar since 1997.
The beautiful but tough course, the enthusiastic volunteers and encouragement along the way ensure a fantastic running spectacle in beautiful surroundings! Now sail to the island with Suydersee and once you have arrived you can enjoy good care and a comfortable cabin.
From 15:00 a warm welcome awaits you on board. While enjoying a drink you will get to know the crew and the other runners. After a short sailing instruction, the skipper chooses the open water towards Terschelling. The sailing trip takes about 4 hours and a fiber-rich meal is served along the way, in view of the sporting performances of the coming days.
The Kleintje Berenloop will take place on Saturday, prior to the marathon on Sunday. In the morning, a special "runner's breakfast" of oatmeal, fresh fruit and sufficient grains and fibers is available for everyone, so that you can appear fully charged at the start. After the walking tour you can enjoy a delicious dinner on board and it's time for a well-deserved drink!
The runners who do not participate in the Kleintje Berenloop can enjoy themselves on the island; warm up during a walk through the woods and dunes or take a look at the Brandaris lighthouse.
Sunday also starts with a good breakfast; after all, it is important to be able to get the most out of yourself during the run. In addition, everyone has the opportunity to make a packed lunch on board.
After the Berenloop you can dive into the festivities of Terschelling or simply relax in the cozy day room on board.
On Monday morning, after breakfast, you will sail back to Harlingen, where the ship will moor around 15:00 PM.
If you only wish to use a crossing, this costs € 45,00 for a single journey. This includes coffee, tea and the evening meal.
Food allergies and dietary requirements
If you have dietary requirements or allergies, it is best to discuss this before booking. Often it is not a problem, but sometimes some cooperation is expected from the guests if special products have to be purchased, which will then have to be taken by the guests themselves, for example.
