A midweek sailing on a traditional sailing ship: enjoy sailing, the cozy harbours, nature and the well-kept catering.
You are welcome on board at 21.00 p.m. on the first day. You get to know the crew and the other sailors. The next day, after breakfast, the sailing instruction follows. You learn which sails there are and how to hoist and operate them. The ship then sails out of the harbour. When the sails are hoisted you can stay active or enjoy the view or do something for yourself. Lunch will be served en route and will be moored in a harbor at the end of the afternoon.
During this trip you will visit beautiful harbors on the IJsselmeer and islands on the Wadden Sea. Sailing on the Wadden Sea is a unique experience, the nature on the water and the islands is particularly beautiful. While sailing you pass sandbanks where the seals are sunbathing. The skipper takes the tide into account and if the weather conditions are favorable, it will dry out and you can go mudflat walking.
In the evening the hot meal is ready. Every day the journey goes to a different port and there is the opportunity to visit attractive towns, sit on a terrace or take a walk.
The number of hours of sailing per day depends on the wishes of the group. For example, a sailing trip with the setting sun on a beautiful summer evening can create the ultimate holiday feeling, while a day of cruising and therefore a lot of work on board yields the real sailor feeling. No day is the same. The skipper does his utmost to put together a nicely varied program. The final route depends on wind and weather conditions. This trip is suitable for all ages.
Sailing and the outdoors give you a healthy appetite. The ship's cooks know this better than anyone. They provide a hearty breakfast, a tasty lunch, snacks and dinner.
Coffee and tea is available throughout the day. The water from the tap is the same as at home, so it is perfectly drinkable. Other drinks such as wine, beer, soft drinks and mineral water are available on board for a fee. You settle this with the skipper at the end of the trip. It is not allowed to bring your own food and drinks.
Food allergies and dietary requirements
If you have dietary requirements or allergies, it is best to discuss this before booking. Often it is not a problem, but sometimes some cooperation is expected from the guests if special products have to be purchased, which will then have to be taken by the guests themselves, for example.
