Onverwacht
Welcome to the Unexpected
It was built in 1908 on the De Goede shipyard in Zwartsluis as a sailing cargo ship. The ship was owned by the Bos family for a long time, first as a cargo ship and later as a houseboat. In the 90 years, a group of skippers from Zwartsluis converted the Onverwacht to be able to sail with groups. The current skipper couple is only the third owner in the long life of the Onverwacht.
Interior
From the outside, the Onverwacht is one of the most traditional sailing ships in the Netherlands. Below deck you will find a homely and hospitable accommodation with all the comforts of today. The interior is ship-like, cozy and very atmospheric. Feel at home with a book from the library, cook in the beautiful kitchen or relax in a hammock on deck.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, cutlery and crockery. There is a fridge and the five-burner gas set is equipped with a spacious oven. There is sufficient space for storing supplies.
The cabins are cozy and light. There are reading lights and compartments for storing things and there is room for bags under the beds. Each cabin has central heating, a skylight or porthole for light and air and a sink.
Sailing with the Unexpected
The Onverwacht is extremely suitable for the most diverse groups. Friends, families, companies and schools are very welcome. Come sailing for a weekend or step on board for a longer trip where you can really discover the Dutch waters. Sail from Makkum and experience the IJsselmeer and Wadden area.
