Program

Possible Itinerary: The indicated itinerary is a guide and can be adjusted depending on weather, current and wind. Flexibility is the rule during this trip.

Day 1: Oban
The crew welcomes everyone on board the Flying Dutchman. This is followed by a delicious meal and of course live music from the musicians. Oban is a beautifully situated town at the foot of the Lorn Mountains. High above the city stands McCraighs Tower, a XNUMXth century replica of the Colosseum. Oban has been called the pearl of the west highlands, with its winding streets and picturesque bay lined with yachts, ferries and small fishing boats. The Flying Dutchman is located on the north pier, less than a hundred meters from the famous Oban whiskey distillery.

Day 2: Mull
After a delicious breakfast the ship sails to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Along the way, the crew gives sailing and safety instructions so that everyone can and may help hoist the sails. You sail right past the beautifully restored Duart Castle. Picturesque Tobermory is the largest town on the island, located in the northeast. It is a charming fishing town with brightly colored houses and a range of small businesses such as a chocolate shop, bakery, candle maker, silversmith, art gallery and potter. Tobermory is also known for its art centers, small theater company and some good pubs and eateries. And of course you can visit the famous Tobermory whiskey distillery on this Loch Ness & Music & Whiskey trip.

Day 3: Corpach
Today the journey continues towards Fort William, where the entrance to the Caledonia Canal begins. Enjoy what can be seen along the way on the beautiful West Coast: space and vistas of the Isle of Mull and other beauties of unspoilt Scotland. It moors in Corpach with views of Fort William and the UK's highest mountain, the striking Ben Nevis.

Day 4: Fort William
The journey goes through the sea lock at Corpach, the entrance to the Caledonia Canal and through the famous Neptune's Staircase, 8 locks in a row. The Flying Dutchman always enjoys a lot of interest, it is one of the largest ships that can pass through the canal and the locks.

Passing the 8 locks takes 3 hours and one can take the opportunity to visit Fort William and / or the Ben Nevis Whiskey distillery. After these locks you enter a fairytale-like narrow canal with tall trees in autumn colors and you sail over beautiful lakes. At the end of the day, we will moor in Fort Augustus, a famous town with beautiful shops and cozy pubs.

Day 5: Loch Ness
Today to the famous Loch Ness lake and who knows, you might still see Nessie. Monster or not, it is a wonderful trip in breathtakingly beautiful surroundings. You pass 10 meters from the famous Urquhart Castle. Discovering Scotland in this way is fantastic. At the end of the day, the ship will dock in Inverness and you will cross Scotland on the East coast. Inverness is a pleasant city with authentic cafes, where you can enjoy traditional Scottish music in the evening.

Day 6: Inverness
After a fun musical evening and a good night's sleep, the journey ends with a delicious breakfast. The journey in Scotland from the West to the East coast is over and after exchanging unique experiences, it is time to say goodbye.
