Also this year the Spes Mea sails this highly sought after comfort 50+ sailing vacations over the Wadden Sea. This year an extended sailing vacation of more than 7 days has been added. During this week it might be possible to sail past all 5 islands.
Every Wadden island has its own charm and sights. What they have in common are the most beautiful beaches in the Netherlands and they are all situated on the Wadden Sea, on a unique piece of nature that has been on the Unesco list since 2 years.
The suggested route is indicative, after all, the Spes Mea is a sailing ship and depends on the wind and tide. What is certain is that the crew of the Spes Mea will do everything to make everyone's vacation an unforgettable time. Enjoying sailing together, the tranquility that the water gives, the wind in your hair and the sun in your face, in short, a real holiday! The boat is not overcrowded, because a maximum of 14 guests go with it. There is also a cook who takes care of the meals.
The crew of the tjalk Spes Mea awaits everyone from 20.00 hours on board in the port of Harlingen.
The next day the Spes Mea sails to the island of Texel, a journey of approximately 5 to 6 hours. The skipper and the mate give sailing instructions so that everyone can help if they want and then the mighty tjalk sails across the Wadden Sea. The ship moors on the island of Texel in the village of Oude Schild.
Then a beautiful route is chosen every day and various islands are visited. Islands that are all equally beautiful and where you can walk, cycle or explore the town. The last day the ship sails back to Harlingen and everyone leaves the ship at 16.00 hours at the latest.
Food allergies and dietary requirements
If you have dietary requirements or allergies, it is best to discuss this before booking. Often it is not a problem, but sometimes some cooperation is expected from the guests if special products have to be purchased, which will then have to be taken by the guests themselves, for example.
